Palmist ("Palmist," "we," "us") provides an AI-assisted palmistry reading experience through palmist.live and the Palmist mobile apps (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
- Reading details: age, gender, focus area, and the palm photos you upload for a reading.
- Content you post: community posts, comments, direct messages, and life events you log in your Journey.
- Payment details: handled entirely by Stripe when you purchase a plan — we never see or store your card number.
How palm photos are used
Photos you upload are sent to Google's Gemini AI model to generate your reading and answer your follow-up questions. Photos are stored on our servers so the AI can reference them again for follow-up questions and so you can return to a saved reading. We do not sell your photos or use them to train third-party models beyond the single reading request.
Information collected automatically
- A session cookie (or, on mobile, a securely stored session token) that keeps you signed in.
- Basic usage data such as which features you use, for reliability and product improvement.
Who we share information with
- Google (Gemini API) — to analyze palm photos and generate readings.
- Stripe — to process subscription and one-time payments.
- Other Palmist users — only content you choose to make public: community posts, your display name and badge, and messages you send to users who follow you back.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Your choices
- You can use Palmist for a single reading without creating an account.
- You can request deletion of your account, readings, and uploaded photos at any time by contacting us below.
- You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your Profile.
Mobile app permissions
The Palmist mobile app requests access to your photo library only to let you select or capture a palm photo to upload. We do not access any other photos on your device.
Children
Palmist is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
